We are getting ready for this year’s Men’s Retreat at Shippensburg University. Beginning on July 26 th and running through the 28 th, it’s a week earlier than in previous years.

“They” say that change is good… and I think you will agree when you see the changes we have planned for this year’s retreat. We hope everyone who has enjoyed this Christian fellowship over the years will have an even more rewarding time this year---and new attendees will want to make the Men’s Retreat a part of their yearly agenda.

As always we appreciate your feedback. Your ideas, concerns and suggestions are always welcome.

Pastor Jeff Johnson, who is our ABCOPAD regional pastor, will be our keynote speaker--- and I am look forward to his message. Our other regional pastors, Kevin Walden, Mark Mahserjian - Smith, and Frank Frischkorn will offer workshops to amplify and build on Pastor Jeff’s message.

I’m sorry to report that Tom Sellar has decided not to serve as Executive Vice President next year. As I prepare to assume the role of President at the end of July, I recommend Joe Kapes to serve as Executive Vice President. Together with Joe, and I look forward to helping with plans for the future retreats.

Looking ahead to next year….Our keynote speaker for the 2014 retreat is somewhat of a celebrity. He is Gordon Douglas, a “pastor comedian” with a very uplifting, entertaining and positive gospel message for us.

The Scriptural theme verse for the 2014 Retreat will be: Psalm 46 Verse 1 “God is our refuge and strength, and ever present help in trouble.” (NIV)
