ABMOPAD Retreat Speaker 2009
Rev. Dr. Kent Berghuis
Born and raised in Iowa and educated in the Midwest and Texas, Dr. Kent Berghuis came to us in the fall of 2004 from Dallas, Texas, where he was a full-time professor in the Department of Theological Studies at Dallas Theological Seminary. Dr. Berghuis holds a broad vision for the local 21 st century church. “First Baptist is a congregation with a wonderful heritage”, he says. “It has great potential for future service with a global vision and a community-minded focus.”
Dr. Berghuis holds a Ph.D. in Theological Studies from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School; Th.M. from Dallas Theological Seminary, 1994; and a B.A. from Faith Baptist Bible College, 1990. His professional ministry experience includes pastoral ministries in Illinois, Ohio and Texas. He has also served as an adjunct professor at several seminaries and universities. Locally, he will be teaching at Biblical Theological Seminary in Hatfield as well as Eastern Baptist Seminary, Wynnewood. Dr. Berghuis also taught in Almaty, Kazakhstan in June 2005, and took a mission team from First Baptist with him.
Dr. Berghuis resides in Lansdale with his wife, Debbie, and three young children.
